"We have tried many preschool books but this has been my daughter's favorite. She loves to put a gold sticker on the numbered page in the back after completing a page and counts her gold stickers every day. This is perfect for little ones who know their alphabet and sounds but need phonics training and help sounding out words. It has really boosted her confidence because it has a lot of "circle the word that start with the f sound" type pages instead of just sounding out whole words, or groups of sounds, which is still too hard for her."

"This book is perfect. My son loves the pictures, and the activities are repetitive, so he knows what to do and can work independently when he needs to. This is the perfect pace for a child who needs to build the confidence to start reading. I've already ordered grade 1 so we can continue as soon as he finishes this level. We'll be working through all of these books."

"Cute book at a great price that teaches kids beginning and middle letter sounds. The one thing that bothered my little one was the fact the letter lessons are not in alphabetical order, but rather consonants come first and then vowels. For a young one that doesn't understand the difference between consonants and vowels and believes everything should be in alphabetical order, this may be disconcerting I guess, but once you get past that the lessons are great. The little gold star stickers used to track progress was especially a hit."

"I absolutely love this workbook. It is a little easy for my 4 year old but he has attended private school for the past 2 years and is a little bit ahead of other 4 year olds so he has been flying through this workbook but he loves it. It is very easy for him to understand as well as entertaining. I love that he is entertained by this workbook enough to not want to play videogames or watch tv all night. Also, this book comes with a set of gold star stickers that I did not know about when ordering. My son is so excited when he finishes a page and receives a gold sticker. I definitely recommend this workbook to anyone with a preschooler. I am in the process of ordering more workbooks from this line right now."

"My grandson, who is 5 and will begin kindergarten in the fall, likes working in this workbook. Many of the activities center on hearing the difference between speech sounds, a skill that is necessary to becoming a good reader. Also, there are star stickers to put on each page as he completes it, and he likes that. As a reading teacher who has worked with struggling readers at the upper level, I feel that this workbook helps build a skill that is critical to reading in a very fun way for young children."

"Perfect for the beginner and also as a review for reading. My daughter was very excited to do the book and complete the pages to get her gold stickers at the end. She was asking to do her learning book. By the end she was able to do the pages without me having to read the instructions."

"Very simple exercises to help a child that can't quite read yet learn to focus on the sounds each letter makes and to hear those sounds in the words they use every day. My toddler loves that it came with gold stars for her to earn by completing each page.
On the first day she received the book she did 20 pages of her own freewill."
